Donna LeClair

Former Director, Advanced Infrastructure and R&D, BC Hydro

Donna LeClair was responsible for the development and implementation of BC Hydro's smart grid program and for the R&D portfolio for transmission and distribution. She held other roles in the corporation, including Chief Technology Officer, Senior Strategic Issues Manager and Senior Power Planning Specialist. Donna worked for the Central Electricity Board in Mauritius as Managing Director/CEO and Corporate Planning & Research Manager, and has extensive Management Consulting experience.

Donna holds both a Bachelor and a Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Master of Science in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/Sloan School of Management. She is a Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of British Columbia. She is a founding Board Member of the B.C. Women in Energy Network and on the Advisory Boards of the University of Victoria Faculty of Engineering and the NRC-IFCI.
