Peter J. O'Callaghan has more than 25 years of experience as a corporate finance and merger and acquisition lawyer. Peter advises clients in connection with all types of corporate securities transactions, including public and private equity financings, take-over and issuer bids, providing independent counsel to investment dealers and boards of directors, and regulatory and stock exchange compliance work.

Peter’s practice focuses on corporate finance and M&A transactions primarily in the mining sector. He acts for issuers and underwriters in respect of mining transactions in Canada, the US, South America, Asia and Africa. He is a member of the CBA’s securities law and business law subsections and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. Peter is recognized in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in the areas of Corporate Finance & Securities, Mergers & Acquisitions, Mining, The Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada in the area of Mergers & Acquisitions and IFLR1000: The Guide to the World’s Leading Financial Law Firms in the area of Capital Markets.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce degrees, both from the University of British Columbia.
