Opening the Door in Terrace

Centennial Christian School hosted the first Opening the Door event in the Year of Science! During this event, 70 Centennial Christian School students from grades 8 to 12 had the opportunity to network with 10 mentors in a variety of science and technology fields. Students connected with mentors from fields such as fisheries biology, mental health, chiropractics, education, occupational health and safety, infection prevention and control, engineering and archaeology.

Here is what some of the participants had to say about the Opening the Door in Terrace:

“It showed me a lot of new job opportunities.” — Student, Grade 12
“Thank you, it was AWESOME!” — Student, Grade 9
“I believe that it exposed some of the hidden jobs that students may not know about. Well done!” — Teacher, Grades 10-12
“I would definitely recommend this program because it encourages real world skills.”— Teacher, Grades 10-12

Thank you to all of the students, teachers and mentors for your enthusiastic participation and for making this a successful event!
