Community Science Celebration

Community Science Celebration

Come to a Community Science Celebration (CSC) and discover the science all around you!

Each Community Science Celebration is one week of community-based science and technology activities taking place in your community. At the end of the week, Science World hosts a family science event at a local community college, school or recreational centre. Activities typically include demonstrations, displays and activities tailored to the community. The focus of Community Science Celebrations is on the positive impact that science, technology and innovation has on a region’s economy, and Science World aims to foster relationships with community organizations and to build community capacity for ongoing science related activities.

Community Science Celebrations encourage students to see value in science studies and consider science and technology career options. They also promote local businesses involved in science and technology and bring the community together by showcasing science education opportunities, local industries, government agencies, schools and community organizations involved in science and technology. Each Community Science Celebration includes the entire community and encourages people of all ages to participate.
