Celebrating everyday green heroes in our community.

It's fun to be green! Green Month at Science World is a month-long series of events and activities that highlight the sustainability efforts of organizations, schools and individuals in our community. Discover green iniatives you can do at home, and enjoy in-depth exploration into sustainable activities under the dome. 

Check out the vidoes by our BC Green Games teams at Centre Stage, where elementary and secondary students showcase green initiatives they've created for their schools and communities. Visit the L41 Home in the Ken Spencer Science Park and discover all the green benefits of living small. Take a Green Roof tour and discover how rooftop gardens help our city's ecosystem. Discover your inner environmentalist during Green Month!

Come and celebrate the environmental success stories of students’ green initiatives for their schools and communities. BC Green Games projects will be featured on the screen at the Peter Brown Family Centre Stage.

Innovation Lab

Teams have 20 minutes to create an invention using a stash of recycled materials, a dash of imagination, and a mystery ingredient. The goal is not necessarily to create a working device, but to build a conceptual model to solve a problem, and to explain how it would work.

Metro Vancouver Youth4Action and Science Worlds TAG and BC Green Games youth groups are teaming up to bring you a night of fun, exploration and inspiration.

Join high school youth leaders from across Metro Vancouver who are passionate about creating sustainable school communities. Weave your way through Science World to explore local sustainability stories. Youth will be invited to exchange strategies, ideas and success stories to inspire action and to nurture an appreciation for our Planet.

Tour though tiny houses with their owners, learn about the sustainable and innovative solutions involved in the tiny houses movement, and experience a barn raising of sorts, where a tiny house will be built in the Science World parking lot, using recycled and reclaimed materials!
