Join the club! Explore hands-on activities and take-home projects.

This special series of workshops is based on our popular Super Science Club program. You’ll enjoy demonstrations, group exploration of our science centre, hands-on activities and take-home projects! To be eligible, you must be a home school group or home learning family.

Program Offerings

Forces (Primary)

Students will push, pull, drop, roll and fling their way through a variety of demonstrations and activities illustrating the different forces on everything around us.

Fridays: Oct 14 and Nov 18

Static Electricity (Primary)

Students will explore static electricity through a series of demonstrations and experiments. It will be so exciting, it'll make their hair stand on end!

Bubbles (Primary)

Students will experiment with bubbles and learn about surface tension, elasticity, minimal surface structures and how to blow really, really big bubbles!

Magnets (Primary)

Students will use simple experiments and observations to explore magnetism and determine what makes things magnetic.

Glow Crazy (Intermediate)

Students will investigate black light and explore the difference between fluorescent and phosphorescent objects.

​Sound (Intermediate)

Students will use simple materials to create, visualize and feel sound waves. They will investigate vibrations and their role in producing sounds.

Microscopic World (Intermediate)

Students will get close and personal while exploring the microscopic world through hand held microscopes.

Program details

  • Primary classes are for participants born in 2010, 2009 and 2008
  • Intermediate classes are for participants born in 2007, 2006 and 2005
  • Classes start at 2pm and run for 1 hour. Please arrive 5 min early to sign in
  • Admission to TELUS World of Science on the day of your club session is included
  • Space is limited to 25 children per program
  • Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult 19+
  • Drop-in registration will not be accepted
  • Accompanying children who are not registered in the program will not be able to participate
  • Additional adults and children who are not participating in the Home Learners Science Club will pay the usual admission rate
  • Photos may be taken during the workshop and may be used for Science World promotional materials, publications and advertisements. Parents may request to opt-out themselves and their children.
  • Limited stroller parking is available
