Super Science Club Family Science Night Held at TELUS World of Science

On May 22, Science World held a very special Family Science Night of learning, pizza and fun for all Super Science Club (SSC) families from eight Vancouver inner-city schools. The event was held at TELUS World of Science and featured our usual brand of zany science with over 380 people in attendance.

Family Science Nights like this one are an important part of SSC; they reflect our community model that involves students, families and teachers in supporting a child’s success. This year’s event is particularly important because, for many, it is their first opportunity to visit TELUS World of Science as a family.

After a delicious pizza dinner, families made a volcano, enjoyed one of Science World’s famous Centre Stage shows (complete with a flying chicken) and explored our interactive galleries. Families also got to watch the spectacular OMNIMAX film Dinosaurs Alive!. It was a truly special evening for everyone who came.

SSC has completed another successful year of providing inner-city students with a safe and stable environment to learn, explore and get inspired.
