Science World introduces new permanent exhibits in BodyWorks
In the News
“The human body – my human body – is the number one priority Science World audiences acknowledged when asked for ways in which science and technology impact their daily lives,” says Bryan Tisdall, President & CEO, Science World. “In response to this, Science World has developed permanent gallery exhibits that highlight the wonder of the human body for children and adults alike, through hands-on, engaging, humorous, and kinetic exhibits.”BodyWorks exhibits explore four thematic areas that pertain to questions kids of all ages ask about their body:
- What Can I Do?
Learn the science behind human performance and the relationship
between athletic and everyday activities.
- How Do I Look?
Find out about aging, face symmetry and body image. - What’s Inside Me?
Uncover what really goes on beneath your skin. - Where Did I Come From?
Frank, funny and fascinating; discover the facts about human
reproduction, foetal development and puberty.
“These questions are universal and can be sensitive, so in developing BodyWorks, we consulted community groups, scientists and teachers to create the best approach, “says Tisdall. “What we came out with is a vibrant, playful and engaging space that uses music, electronics, digital imagery, games, vintage film and video and human power to inspire thought and learning among our viewers.”
