Windsor Plywood gives $100,000 to enhance Science World’s Search: The Sara Stern Gallery
In the News
VANCOUVER, BC—Today Science World announced Windsor Plywood’s generous support of the enhancement and expansion of the much-loved Search: The Sara Stern Gallery at TELUS World of Science. The $100,000 gift will be used toward the redesign and refurbishment of the gallery, well-known for its whimsical approach to natural science.
"It’s important for children to grow up feeling connected to nature,” says Bryan Tisdall, President and CEO of Science World. “When they feel that connection, children become enthusiastic about exploring and preserving the natural world around them. Our planned expansion to Search will ensure that young minds continue to find nature inspirational and relevant.”In recognition of Windsor Plywood’s generous donation, discovery boxes in the Search gallery will be renamed Discovery Spot, Presented by Windsor Plywood. “Contributions from our community partners like Windsor Plywood ensure that Science World will continue to thrive and inspire future science and technology leaders for years to come,” says Tisdall. “Their support is invaluable to our continued success.”
Science World has embarked on a community-wide campaign to raise $1 million in support of the expansion and upgrade to Search. Initial concepts include a 300-450 square foot floor space expansion, new display areas and exhibits, and a new, engaging entrance structure.
