The Canadian Network for Environmental Education and Communication (EECOM) honoured Science World with their "Outstanding Non-Profit Organization Award" for BC Green Games. Kate Henderson, the Program Manager and Digital Outreach and Teacher Support Specialist accepted the award during the EECOM 2013 awards dinner at the University of Victoria.
This is the fifth year of BC Green Games, Science World's annual province-wide contest that rewards and shares students’ environmental success stories. Science World manages BC Green Games with input from youth, government, school district, university, science and environmental education community partners. Presenting sponsors for are BC Hydro and Fortis BC. All 132 projects entered this year, as well as over 500 past projects, can be viewed at bcgreengames.ca.
