Bryan Tisdall
President & CEO

Bryan brings a broad array of senior management experience in public administration to Science World. Previously, Bryan held the position of General Manager of Exhibition Place and General Manager of Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto (1989–1997), Director, Finance & Administration for the Metropolitan Toronto Police (1983–1989) and prior to that, Director of Corporate Relations and Director of Planning and Production Services with TVOntario (1976–1983).
Currently, Bryan is Vice-Chair of the Association of Science Museum Directors, serves on the Membership Committee of the Association of Science and Technology Centres and is active on both the Technology Education Careers Council in British Columbia and the Canadian Association of Science Centres nationally, as well as the Advisory Board for KCTS9, the PBS television station in Seattle. Bryan is also a member of the Board of the Science Fair Foundation of British Columbia.
Bryan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Toronto, a Master of Science Degree in Extension Education from the University of Guelph and, a Masters of Business Administration Degree from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
Kevin Kearns
Vice President, Facility Development & Future Planning

Kevin brings a wide range of diverse experience to his position. Previously, Kevin was the project manager for Gallagher & Associates (G&A), a Washington, DC based museum design firm, he led the design and implementation for many significant museum projects including the International Spy Museum, Baseball as America travelling exhibition for the Baseball Hall of Fame, and the National Archives Experience for the National Archives of the United States. Before beginning at G&A, Kevin worked for Design & Production (D&P), a museum exhibit fabricator. For D&P, he led the fabrication and installation process for Science City at Union Station, a 70,000 square foot science museum in Kansas City, Missouri.
Before working in the museum business, Kevin worked as an urban planner for the Peace Corps in Cape Verde, West Africa. While in Cape Verde, in addition to his work at City Hall, he developed a summer arts and science camp for underprivileged youth and created a successful communication network to connect international and local aid organizations working in Cape Verde.
Kevin Graduated with a BA in Urban Studies from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY and completed course requirements for medical school at the State University of New York.
Leonard Liau
Vice President, Finance & Administration

Prior to joining Science World, Leonard held the position of Controller at the Vancouver Stock Exchange (1988–1998). His other previous experience included a number of years in public accountancy practice with some of the major international accounting firms and financial management positions in provincial and federal Crown Corporations.
Leonard is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand and the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and has completed the examination requirements of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Pauline Finn
Vice President, Community Engagement

Pauline has been working with learning-focused, non-profit organizations since 1994. She is a high school science teacher and received a Bachelor of Science degree from UBC and a Diploma in Environmental Studies from Langara College. Prior to joining Science World in 2005, Pauline managed school and public programs at H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, the Richmond Nature Park, and the North Vancouver Museum and Archives.
Her team's efforts have been recognized by the Canadian Association of Science Centres including:
- Best Outreach Program for Community Science Celebrations (2010)
- Best Outreach Program for Science World's Super Science Club after-school program for inner-city youth (2006)
- Best Program or Exhibit for the Space Centre's Sharing Space Youth Mentorship Program (2002)
Her current team is responsible for the development and implementation of exhibits and program including the BC Program for the Awareness and Learning of Science (BC PALS) – a multi-year partnership with the Ministry of Education providing more science programs and resources for schools and communities throughout the province.
She participated in the American Association of Museums International Partnerships Among Museums exchange program with Space Centre Houston, and volunteer community work has included: BC Sports Hall of Fame Board, Science Fair Foundation Board, Genome BC Education Advisory Committee, NSERC-Pacific Advisory Committee, BC Innovation Council STEM Committee, SFU Science Times Advisory Committee and BC National Science & Technology Organizing Committee.
Suki Law
Director, Human Resources

As Director of Human Resources, Suki is responsible for leading all aspects of human resources in line with Science World's strategic direction, while building a performance-based organizational culture. Suki brings to Science World an extensive Human Resources background gained from diverse industry sectors including hi-tech, telecommunications, government, and not-for-profit. Prior to joining Science World, Suki was Human Resources Manager at Fusepoint Managed Services where she had successfully built the HR function from the ground up for this high growth national organization. Prior to that, she held various HR generalist positions at organizations such as AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Electronic Arts, and District of West Vancouver. Most recently, Suki worked as an independent consultant focusing on compensation strategies and models and performance management systems.
Suki is a certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and a member of the BC Human Resources Management Association. She holds an honours B.A. from Baptist University of Hong Kong as well as an MBA in Human Resources Management from Royal Roads University.
Suan Teo
Director, Marketing & Attendance Promotion
With over 15 years of marketing experience, Suan is responsible for Science World's marketing, branding, sales, and attendance promotion activities.
Prior to moving to Vancouver, Suan had a varied career in marketing and administrative positions at Exhibition Place in Toronto, and served as special assistant to the president and executive assistant to the Chair.
Before moving to Canada, Suan worked in the hotel and hospitality industry as incentive tour manager and corporate sales manager in her native Singapore, working with Sheraton Towers and Dynasty Hotel (now the Marriott Hotel).
Outside of work, Suan enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and keeping fit.
Tammy Matheson
Director, Business Operations
Tammy has a comprehensive background in business operations, bringing experience from a variety of roles in the hospitality industry. Tammy has spent the last 8 years with the renowned Westin Bayshore Resort & Marina, most recently as Director of Rooms.

Prior to that, she implemented the Six Sigma program, accountable for accomplishing innovative business process improvements with quantifiable results, and leading the entire staff in these changes.
Tammy possesses a passion for customer service and training which was reflected in the soaring increase of positive guest and associate satisfaction index scores under her leadership as the Front Office Manager and Director of Rooms. Other accomplishments include being named to the Front Office Advisory Board for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, becoming a certified trainer in Rhythms of Hospitality, and being a member of the Executive Committee at the resort.
Tammy has a Sales and Marketing Management Diploma from the Sauder School of Business at UBC and is a certified sales executive and marketing executive through Sales & Marketing Executives International.
