Leave it to Castor canadensis

Last Updated (Monday, 07 July 2008 16:47) Written by Raymond Nakamura

As a national emblem, the beaver has a role in Canadian society comparable to that of the Governor-General.
For Canada Day, I interviewed Theodore for his views on issues of national concern.
"Make it quick," he said, "I'm busy."

And when I asked him what he thought of political life, he said, "One dam thing after another."

I saw a beaver swimming in a pond up in Dawson Creek once. And I saw one trundle past me when I was sitting in the forest somewhere some time ago. Or maybe I was watching the first Chronicles of Narnia movie. I'd like to hear about your encounters with this national emblem.
