Fall Field Trip Info

Congratulations teachers for all of your hard work and dedication this school year!  Read on for a sneak-peek at new field trip offerings for Fall 2018:

Tech-Up School Workshops

We are excited to be offering three new workshops as a part of Tech-Up: Science World's initiative to enhance existing programs to include coding and computational thinking. These workshops are free until March 31, 2019, subject to availability:

  • Senses and Sensors: In small teams, students program a robot to respond to its environment (Grades 3–4). 
  • Ozobot Dance-Off: In pairs, students use loops and conditional statements to teach a tiny robot new moves (Grades 5–6).
  • Tinkering with Code: Students use code to create a musical instrument that is activated by light. (Grades 7–9).

The Science Behind Pixar

This STEAM feature exhibition is here until January, 6th 2019!

Students will discover how science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) are interdependent when creating animated movies in The Science Behind Pixar.

Important things to note:

  • This exhibition is best for ages 8 and up
  • You need to add The Science Behind Pixar to your booking request
  • The school rate is $3+GST per person 
  • There is a separate timed-entry ticket, to ensure groups get the best experience in this popular exhibition
  • Leave at least an hour in your group's schedule for visiting this exhibition

Coming Soon: Game Changers

Opens October 12, 2018

Game Changers is a highly interactive and immersive travelling exhibition that explores how innovation has shaped gameplay in video gaming systems and transformed the way we interact with technology. This exhibition is best for ages 8 and up. 

Bus Parking:

  • There is no bus parking available in our two public parking lots. 
  • Make sure to ask for the contact number for your bus driver
  • Give your driver a call when your group is together with all of their belongings and ready for pick-up
  • Bus drivers may remain in the lay-by for up to 15 minutes
  • Ensure your driver knows this process, and give them a high-five!
