STEAM: science, technology, engineering, art & design, and math
In these weekly sessions we'll share resources, ideas, and find answers to questions.
This week: Assessing Computational Thinking
The Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies (ADST) curriculum from K to 9 is built on the model of integrating the applied-design process into other subject areas. This workshop will allow teachers to explore cross-curricular lessons involving coding and computational thinking to demonstrate how this problem-solving strategy can be applied in subjects such as language arts, physical education, science, and math. Discussions and hands-on activities will allow participants to leave this session with a better understanding of how to create meaningful interdisciplinary lessons, assess curriculum, and self-assess their core competencies.
This session is intended as a professional development opportunity for educators. This session will be held on Zoom. Meeting details will be emailed 2 hours prior to the event.
This program is a part of Tech-Up, Science World's initiative to enhance existing programs to include coding and digital literacy.
