Science World is pleased to introduce a new way for K to 9 teachers and teacher candidates to learn and connect with others in the teaching community around a topic in Computational Thinking.

This session: Digital Literacy in your Gr 5-12 Classroom

In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn how to add data literacy, including data analysis, visualization and coding, into your classroom using Callysto’s free resources. Callysto experts will use the "unfair dice problem" to show how data literacy and computational thinking can be applied across all subject areas, from math to social studies.

Workshop details

What you need to attend this online workshop:

  • An internet connection.
  • A fully-charged computer or tablet with Google Chrome or FireFox internet browsers installed.
  • A Google or Microsoft email.
  • No coding experience is necessary to attend this event.

Callysto is a free, federally-funded, online tool that teaches Grades 5-12 teachers and students across Canada digital literacy skills.

*Please note, we will require a minimum number of participants to run these workshops. Sessions will be canceled the day before the event if there are not enough registrations. If a workshop fills up, participants that are on a waitlist will be alerted the day prior to the event of any openings.

This event is part of Tech-Up, Science World's initiative to enhance existing programs to include coding and computational thinking.
