Girls and STEAM Studio

Calling participants aged 12 – 14 to step into the shoes of a scientist!

Intrigued by new technologies, artistic innovation, or scientific discoveries? Science World invites you to join us at the dome on Saturday, April 25 for an exhilarating day of interactive workshops with lots of opportunities to learn directly from people working within the STEAM fields.

About the Workshops

Two dynamic workshops led by local STEAM organizations will guide you through the boundless possibilities that exist. Passionate professionals will answer your questions about the exciting and diverse world of STEAM.

Workshop 1 - Modelling Neurons
How do scientists model biological processes computationally? In this session, we will use Python to experiment with simulated cells.

Workshop 2 - Bodies: The Science of Cell Staining
In this lab-based activity, you will learn about cell staining—a key laboratory technique used to visualize structures within cells. Through hands-on experimentation, learn how this technique allows researchers to study cells in detail and pave the way for the scientific breakthroughs of tomorrow
