Go By Bike Week – Free events!

Go By Bike Week (formerly Bike to Work Week) is happening between May 30 to June 5, 2026. Here are some great events for all ages happening at Science World—all events are free with general admission.

Seawall Rides

12pm to 1pm & 1:15pm to 2:15pm on May 30, 2026

Cycling Without Age takes seniors and their friends and families for recreational rides on trishaws (three-wheeled bicycles). The volunteer Pilot pedals in the back and two passengers ride on a comfortable bench in the front. The purpose is to enjoy fresh air, good conversation, and together create connections, memories and smiles. Our program is run by volunteers and our rides are by donation.

In partnership Cycling Without Age will be hosting ten 50-minute tri-shaw rides around the seawall with 10 minutes to meet and greet before we take off. All passengers must sign a Liability Waiver prior to the ride. Each time slot is for two people sitting side by side in a trishaw. The program is run by Cycling Without Age volunteers, and will be departing from Science World.

More details Cycling Without Age can be found at www.cyclingwithoutage.ca/vancouver.

Not able to join a ride? Cycling Without Age will be inside Science World to answer visitor's questions.

Rides typically book fast, so sign up now!

Meet a Mechanic

1pm to 3pm on June 2nd, 2026

Join us inside Science World to Meet a Bike Mechanic. Our Community Bikes will be in the dome so you can speak with a mechanic, learn the systems and mechanics of how a bike works, and what you can do to fix it.

Please note that the mechanic will be onsite, and will be engaging all things bikes, and will not be fixing visitor's bikes.

Reflective Bike Decals – Makers Studio

3pm to 5pm from June 1st to June 5th

In this Maker Studio, we welcome makers to create their very own reflective bike decals! Using Cricut Design Space and the Cricut smart cutting machines, makers will design their decal, cut, and weed the design while reflecting (pun intended!) on the safety and science of visibility.
