Calling all young artists and tech enthusiasts: Join Science World and CICA Vancouver for an exciting and unique kids' workshop and see how art and technology collide! Discover the captivating world of Hajime Sorayama's art through a guided tour, and unleash your creativity in a creative coding workshop with Micro:bits.

In this one-of-a-kind experience, you'll have the opportunity to explore Sorayama's futuristic artwork, featuring chrome creatures and robotic wonders. Then, dive into the world of coding and robotics as you learn how to bring your own creature to life using Micro:bits.Combine artistry and technology to create a mesmerizing piece that responds to light, movement, and other things in it’s surrounding environment.

No prior coding or art experience is necessary – our expert instructors will guide you every step of the way. Unleash your imagination, experiment with new ideas, and watch your creations come to life in this hands-on workshop that merges art, science, and innovation.

What is included?

  • Admission to Hajime Sorayama: Space Traveler at CICA Vancouver.
  • A family-friendly guided tour led by our knowledgeable and engaging staff.
  • A guided art lesson.
  • A 1-hour creative coding workshop led by Science World.
  • Free admission to Science World for each participating child (with the purchase of adult admission).
