Science Leadership

Make a difference in the community through one of our science leadership programs. Designed for high school students, these programs challenge you to delve into science and use what you've learned to be a positive impact in your city and in the world.

Science World's digital eco-storytelling contest supports BC teachers and promotes place-based environmental education. This project-style, inquiry-based program is a 21st century learning opportunity in scientific exploration, storytelling, media arts and advocacy.

Now accepting applications! In weekly meetings, students learn essential skills, meet top experts and innovators and apply their new knowledge and skills. We have modeled the program after excellence programs in high performance sports, such as Own the Podium and the farm system in hockey. There is a progression where students are increasingly supported and challenged. With the extra support of this program, students will be expected to excel in national and international science, technology, engineering and math challenges.

The Science Presentation Informal Facilitation For Youth (SPIFFY) Workshop is geared towards leadership students. In this workshop, we share our science presentation skills with secondary students and show them how they can deliver some fun science demos and activities to an elementary school audience.
