Sustainability Saturdays: Wetland Water Filters

Wetland Water Filters

Join us at our third set of workshops in our new Sustainability Saturday series!

Using our Science World’s wetland, participants will learn about how wetlands clean our water and try their hands at engineering a natural water filter.

During this hands-on workshop, become wetland scientists and engineers to:

  • Uncover how Science World’s wetland naturally filters water
  • Create and experiment with different natural materials to engineer the most effective water filter
  • Use a conductivity meter and chemistry test strips to test the water chemistry, and see how important water quality parameters change before/after water filtration

This workshop is ideal for budding scientists ages 8+. Participants will create and iterate their own water filter, so please keep in mind that one ticket = one water filter to work on.

Sign up now to secure your spot! We can’t wait to see you there!

Note: This is a truly sustainable activity, the water filters and rocks will be reused! Nothing to take home, except the memories.
