Science World’s President & CEO Tracy Redies has announced her decision to retire from the role.
Under Tracy’s leadership, Science World has ignited wonder and empowered dreams across BC. During her time as CEO, the organization has successfully weathered the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic, secured millions of dollars to revitalize our iconic dome for the future, diversified revenues streams, provided STEAM education to students, teachers and families across the province, and continued Science World’s trusted place in the hearts of BC’s education and tourism eco-systems.
Redies said: “Leading Science World has been a privilege and I am so proud of what this team has achieved together. I would like to personally thank our inspiring supporters and volunteers, Science World’s Board of Directors and our talented staff team, all of whom are passionate about Science World’s mandate of Science for All.”
In order to ensure a smooth transition, Science World has engaged an executive search company (PFM) to assist in the timely recruitment of a successor. Tracy will continue to lead Science World until a permanent CEO has been recruited to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition as the new CEO takes the helm.
Jade Bourelle, Chair of the Science World’s Board of Directors, said “Over five high-impact years, Tracy has built a strong and high-performing team at Science World and the entire Board of Directors is confident that our important work will continue as we work together to inspire the next generation of problem solvers, world changers and nerds.”
Bourelle continues, “On behalf of Science World’s Board and staff team, I would like to wish Tracy all the very best for her retirement. And our gratitude for her leadership of significant and lasting efforts to engage learners across the province in STEAM, and inspire the next generation of wonder seekers, problem solvers and nerds.”
