Rainbow War | 20 min
Rainbow War is a dazzling film in which three kingdoms, Blue, Red and Yellow, fight a colorful battle for supremacy. Paint buckets, brushes and rollers are the weapons in their splashy, slapstick struggle. This Academy Award nominated film is an important reminder that we are all part of the same human family.
Rainbow War was originally produced for the 1986 World Expo in Vancouver, BC. Watch for future stars Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles.
Toons for Tots – Luna, Chip and Inkie| 23 min
Set in the forests, mountains, lakes and ocean near the fictional town of Eagle Creek, this series is inspired by the rugged, natural beauty of the Pacific West Coast. Join Luna the owl, Chip the beaver, and Inkie the octopus as they explore nature and tackle problems in their town, but not before they experience some hilarious flops that require them to look for different ways of unlocking a solution. More episodes available at knowledgekids.c
Legendary book designer Chip Kidd tells the story of how the T. rex specimen, AMNH 5027, came to grace the cover of Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park.
Coyote’s Crazy Smart Science Show : Light | 22 min
Coyote Science takes viewers on a culturally rich adventure into the fun and wonder of Indigenous science. Our young scientists are encouraged to ask questions, to make their own observations, to unravel How? and Why? Join our Science Questers as they find out about how light has different temperatures; and how to make your own sunset.
Great Bear Rainforest | 43 min
Journey to a land of grizzlies, coastal wolves, sea otters and the all-white spirit bear — the rarest bear on earth — in the film Great Bear Rainforest. Hidden from the outside world, the Great Bear Rainforest is one of the wildest places left on earth. Found on Canada’s remote Pacific coast, it is the last intact temperate rainforest in the world—a place protected by the region’s indigenous people for millennia. Narrated by Ryan Reynolds.
Noggin | 18 min
British Columbia-based Tinkerer Aaron Turner learned when he was very young to not buy things if he could make them. As an adult, his passion for making things led him to create Noggin, a marvelous remote-controlled rowing boat. This is the story of how a lifelong love of science, engineering, and ingenuity led to something much larger than life. Even if it is at a much smaller scale. Suitable for all ages.
