STEAM Days of Summer

STEAM Days of Summer is Science World’s annual 5-day summer professional development learning program for BC educators. Participants delve into ways of teaching STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art & design, and math) using a cross-curricular approach while networking with colleagues.

Join your colleagues from the Lower Mainland for five full days of hands-on learning centred on STEAM education in your classrooms with a focus on cross-curricular digital skills and technology. Each day you’ll participate in 3 dynamic sessions presented by a mix of your colleagues, Science World educators, and local organizations as we dive into the deep end of incorporating the ADST curriculum into other topic areas.

Our theme for 2023 is "Designing for the Future." We will focus on strategies for developing digital literacy skills across the curriculum and explore suitable coding methods and tools to support this.

Option to Customize Your STEAM Days Experience

This year we’re giving you the opportunity to customize your experience with the afternoon workshop selections. Each afternoon will be split into three concurrent sessions with a maximum of 15 participants per session. After you register to attend STEAM Days, we will contact you in July so that you may choose your workshops on a first come, first served basis.

Join Our Presenter Team!

Did you deliver a STEAM lesson this year that you’re super proud of? Help us build a community of learning amongst teachers attending STEAM Days! Participants who sign up to present will receive:

  • support from Science World staff before and during your workshop,
  • an honorarium for their time,
  • early access to afternoon session registration, and
  • extra swag!

Science World will provide the necessary participant materials for the lesson as well as ongoing support in the preparation and delivery of your session. Sessions are 60, 75, or 90 minutes delivered to either the full group of 45 teachers or a breakout group of 15 teachers.

You will automatically be enrolled for participation in STEAM Days with your presenter application and will receive early access to afternoon session registrations. In the event that we receive more applications for presentations than we can accommodate in our weekly schedule, we will review all topics and aim to provide a variety of options and grade levels.

In Summary...

  1. Fill out the application below and tell us about your amazing STEAM lesson!
  2. In early July, look for our email with early access workshop details and selections.
