Science World's Scientists and Innovators in the Schools (SIS) is a time-honoured program that connects emerging scientific minds with the exciting and ever-expanding world of science and technology. Since 1989, SIS volunteers have been sharing their passion for science with students all across the province.
This video was produced by a high school teacher as a thank you card for SIS volunteer, Donald Bouffard. During his session, students learned just how much science rocks—literally. Mr Bouffard is a retired geologist who has been an SIS volunteer since 1994. He delivered a fun and engaging presentation that allowed students to have hands-on interactions with meteors, space crystals and minerals. The students were inspired by his passion and his breadth of knowledge. Science World is lucky to have volunteers like Mr Bouffard, to fire up future generations of scientists and innovators.
