Health & Safety

Masks are a must:

It is mandatory for staff, volunteers and visitors ages 6 and over to wear a mask.

Following the recommendations of the public health authorities, face shields can only be worn with a mask. We no longer accept masks with valves, as respiratory droplets can be transmitted through the opening.

If you are unable to wear a mask due to health conditions, we unfortunately cannot offer an exception at this time. Our team is working on creating exclusive online experiences for visitors who would like to enjoy Science World but are unable to wear masks.

Masks are available for purchase in our Kaleidoscope Science Store.

Please keep a healthy distance:

Visitors will be expected to maintain a physical distance of 2 metres from staff and other visitors and to use hand sanitizer provided upon entry and exit.

Signs and directions will guide you through the new visitor pathways in our building. These new pathways will allow for physical distancing and flow through the galleries, elevators, stairwells and washrooms. Please follow the directions of staff and respect the spaces of other visitors to Science World.

Triple O’s, Snack Lab and food vending machines will be closed. If you have a health condition that requires you to have snacks/beverages during your visit, please bring them with you and consume only when seated and physically distanced from other visitors in our express eating area, located in the Triple O’s restaurant seating area.

Bring your re-fillable water bottle! The touchless water bottle filling stations will be functioning. The hands-on buttons and bubblers (the part you put your mouth near) will not be functioning.

Let's be kind, calm and safe:

Visitors are required to agree to a Code of Conduct when purchasing tickets. This will be visible at our entrance and offered as a reminder throughout the building.

There will be no tolerance for any racism or discrimination (including microaggressions) towards other visitors or staff. Any misconduct, including failure to comply with our Visitor Code of Conduct, will result in removal from the facility without a refund.
