Community Science Celebration – Courtenay

Come join us and explore science in YOUR community at the North Island College in Courtenay for a Community Science Celebration on Saturday, May 24th, 2025.

At the end of a week of school visits in the community by the fantastic On The Road team, Science World is excited to share their science presentations and more with scientists of all ages at this free public event.

We will be joining local exhibitors and our hosts North Island College to present interactive exhibits and presentations from 10:30am – 4pm, including shows and activities throughout the day and a special teen programming presented by Girls and STEAM at 1:30pm (details below).

The North Island College will host open labs, rocket launching and other fun activities and catch Science World's On The Road team presenting live science shows at 11am, 12:30pm, 2pm and 3pm. Exhibitors will include: Bamfield Marine Science Centre, BC EHS (Ambulance), BC Hydro, Genome BC, Gwaii Engineering, MARS Wildlife Rescue Centre, Morrison Creek Streamkeepers, Nanaimo Science, NIC Summer Youth Academy, and others from the Vancouver Island Science Community.
